Projects

Projects are containers for visualizations, datasets, and basemaps.

Projects Overview

A project contains Visualizations, Datasets, and Basemaps. Selecting a project in the Mappica Dashboard opens the Mappica Editor. Inside, the Project tab displays the following information:
  • Visualizations: these are pages that contain charts, maps, and other components. Published visualizations can be embedded on external websites.
  • Datasets: these are spreadsheets that store the data used in visualization components such as charts and maps. Each dataset contains Fields (columns) and Records (rows). Each field can be assigned a Field Name as well as a Type, such as "text", "number", or "date".
  • Basemaps: these are maps stored in GeoJSON format, containing a variety of geographic features, including polygons, points, and lines. These features each represent individual geographic locations such as countries, provinces, and cities. Once imported into a project, a basemap can be displayed in a visualization's Map element.
